The boys wanted to be star wars yet again. I told them we could dress up Alice as Princess Leia or Yoda. When I made a princess Leia hat and showed it to Jimmy he replied "Aw Mom! I wanted her to be Yoda!" But I thought she made a perfect princess Leia (with the hat wig of course). I made that hat wig from a brown dishtowel (I'm kind of proud of that bit of innovativeness if you can't tell).
This year, Jimmy can't eat hard things yet of course (still softs for another 4 weeks), and so I told the boys I'd pay them a nickel for each piece of candy they gave me. Jimmy turned in all of his candy except for a powder pixie stick and earned over $10 from all the candy he got this year! Johnny wanted to keep a couple pieces, and made about $9- It about made me go broke! I think I'm just giving a penny per candy next year :)
By Sunday, the boys weren't asking to do the "real" trick or treating, so we just stayed home. Surprisingly we didn't get a single trick or treater to our door this year. I even had put the candy that I had bought from the boy's by the door to re-hand out. James thinks it is because we forgot to leave our porch light on. I kind of liked the quiet evening- especially since it fell on a Sunday.
