Dinner Table Funnies

Sunday, August 7, 2011 0 comments

Tonight at family dinner, we started telling riddles to each other.

Jimmy and Johnny loved it.  Even Alice was having fun watching even though she didn't have much of a clue what we were talking about, she just knew somepin' was funny.

Here some of our riddles:

James: A 50's eatery with an owie
Answer: a diner-sore (get it diner-sore, like dinosaur?)

Anna: a Cheese that makes you hungry
Answer: Mun-cheese (get it mun-cheese, like munchies?)

Jimmy: What is a warm dog?
Answer: a hot dog!

James:
What kind of room has no walls?
Answer: a mush-room!

Johnny: What is a rock and a star?
Answer: a rock star!

Jimmy: what is a tree that has a house?
Answer: a tree house

Jimmy and Johnny were using mostly riddles they had learned off of the back of their gogurts, and then simplifying them a bit :)  James and I began to get really competitive with one another thinking up hard riddles.  I got really tricky and even threw in a little Chinese as a curve ball

Anna: What is erzi (兒子) and guang ()?
Answer: Sunshine

In the end, I came up with a riddle that James has yet to solve (yes!).  It was driving him nuts that he couldn't guess it.  Can you?

Anna: What reptile's name is a "poop + out loud"?
Answer: ?

I am so tickled I made up one too hard for my husband to guess it.  Jimmy and Johnny loved it that the final riddle involved feces.

PS- You're probably thinking what the heck do pig noses have to do with family riddles?  Well nothing really at all.  I didn't have a picture of tonight's dinner, so I decided to post some other pictures I had taken last month of us goofing off around the dinner table.  Thanks Lisa for the piggie-nose-taping-memory-from-our-childhood-idea.  I had forgotten all about that!

Christmas

The beautiful glitter that I used on this card (Crystal Glitter Ritz) does not show up very well in the scan, but I can assure you it is a great product. The background is stamped with Christmas words (Viva Deco - My Paper World) and the star is drawn by hand.

New Arrival!

Crafted all day yesterday, to pot with the housework...there's always next week. Life's to short and when I have a good spell with my health I'm going to party with my stash lol!! Had a baby Girl card to make for my Nephew and partner Vicki. Congrats to them both. Decided to have a change and pulled out my under used Cricut, dusted the poor thing down and loaded up the New Arrival cartridge.

No More Standalone Google Dictionary

Google Dictionary is no longer available as a standalone service at google.com/dictionary. You can still find it in Google Web Search and Google Translate. For example, you can search for [define keyword] and click "more" or search for [keyword] and click "Dictionary" in the search options sidebar.

{ Thanks, Arpit. }
