This is so fun to see and hear. Yesterday Alice started blowing raspberries for the first time. What an adorable baby sound. Jimmy and Johnny could never make this sound as babies-it was a such a feat in speech therapy to finally be able to do this around age 2 for them. What a wonderful blessing Alice has learned how to do this all on her own!
Another hurdle Alice has accomplished (I think she's going to be a track star!) is rolling over! She did that last week on Wednesday. It's kind of a bummer as now I have to be careful she doesn't roll off the bed!
She also has taken a liking to "blanket monster" and likes to pull the blanket up around her head. Kind of scares me to death when she does that. I think we'll be going blanket-less here for a bit.
I didn't take this picture, just found it online at photoshoppix.com, but it is how I feel at times...
And Alice is still huge. She started wearing size 4 diapers over a month ago. That's the size Johnny grew out of when he potty trained himself last Spring. In fact I did a side by side comparison of their 2 bums and Alice officially has a bigger bum than her big brother (that's a 3 month bum vs. a 3 year old bum)! Right now as we speak, she has on an 18 month onesie, which fits her perfectly.
I forgot to ask someone to take my picture...

(Insert picture here of me jumping in pool with clothes on and baby at breast).
My friend Briawna invited me and my kids over for a swimming play date last week. It was so much fun to sit and chat with Briawna (we both just moved here, and both just had our husband's graduate from the BYU MBA program). They have a beautiful neighborhood pool. And here's a little memorable thing that happened:
The boys were playing in the water- Johnny got into a little too deep of water and I was on the side nursing Alice with a towel over me. I was watching him and I couldn't tell if he was smiling or in distress. As I looked closer I realized he was having water going in his mouth and then he started going under. I jumped up, baby still on boob (probably flashed all the other moms there) and jumped in the pool with my pants on. I lifted him out and he had a good cough up of water. He's fine now, but it was a little scary. He was surrounded by other kids/moms in the pool when this all happened. It just goes to show how easy and noiseless a kid can drown. And he had a lifejacket on! It was a sort of "light-weight" life jacket- one that evidently can't keep him up all the way.
I had just read an article a couple weeks ago that my friend Jillian had posted on facebook. It is a good one to read. It reminded me in the situation that often kids don't make any noise/abrupt movements when they are drowning, and that is just what Johnny was doing- not yelling or splashing at all. Read the article.
So moral of the story is- keep a close eye on my kids at the pool (going on my own with all 3 is kind of daunting). And next time I'll be nursing on the sidelines without my clothes on (that is just with my swimming suit on), ready to jump.

In June, we took a trip up to Montana and visited James' parents. We got a new car (we busted the seams of our Honda civic with the addition of a third child), a minivan in May, and it feels so luxurious and spacious and smooth compared to the civic. Road trips have been so much fun in it. We had been borrowing James' parents minivan since Alice was born, and we needed to return it, so we drove up separately (James in his parent's van, and me in our new van). I was pretty proud of myself for being able to handle all 3 kids for more than half of the trip on my own in that van (johnny got sent to time out in Daddy's van around half way).Jimmy and Johnny loved driving in the new van. Jimmy still won't stop talking about the "automatic cup holders" (all they do is pop out, but it's pretty amazing to him).
And Montana has got to be one of the most beautiful, scenic, wide open states. It REALLY does have a BIGGER SKY than anywhere else, I'd say. James' parents live right outside of Yellowstone, so one day we ventured on up to Bear Tooth Pass. This pass is amazing. It zig-zags back and forth and climbs the mountains so fast. Then all of the sudden you are high, high, high in the snow capped mountains with the most amazing view of the incredible Yellowstone mountain ranges. Not to mention all the animals we got to see. The boys loved looking out their windows with Grandma and Grandpa's binoculars spotting bison and even a bear along the way! We also went on a little hike and saw the Yellowstone river. Here's a shot of my hand by some buffalo poo.Back at the ranch, James buzzed his old man's hair, now they are twins:After relaxing in Montana for a few days, James and I flew with Alice to Arkansas on a "pre-trip" to go check the area out and find a place to live. James' parents were so kind to let us leave the boys there in Montana with them. The pre-trip was so much fun. We ate delicious food, explored beautiful Bentonville, and really relaxed as Alice was so easy and it felt like we were newlyweds/kid less again. Bentonville has this quaint little downtown square. It is where the Saturday farmer's markets are held and it is where the first Walton's five and dime (a.k.a. Walmart) was (it was born there 60 years ago). Bentonville also has this huge, gorgeous lake named Beaver lake just a 20 minutes drive away. There is boating and camping there and we hope to make it a family tradition to venture out there each month. When we got back to Montana, it was so fun, down the road we bumped into Grandpa on his all-terrain vehicle giving the boys a joy ride. I guess they would go out for daily rides with Grandpa on this. It was the cutest thing to come home to. And oh, how I missed my boys. It was so good to see them again. I felt like they had grown up so much during the time we were apart, even though it was really only 5 days. They just seemed so much older to me.

Not my self of late and finding it so hard to get in the mood to do anything. Had these stamps a couple of weeks and seen so many lovely cards made with them and thought it was time I got stamping. So hard to be inspirationally when your head has gone to sleep and isn't interested in being part of you. Think it's time for a transplant, then again I might end up interested in beasties, better

Asked to make this for my Son's girlfriends Mum's 50th birthday. Something special she said in purples and greens with cute characters. Well, love playing with Tim Holtz distressing inks, Hero Art backgrounds and the adorable characters from Penny Black and last but not least my Cricut. A real pickle I got into, couldn't get my design studio to work on my new laptop, stupid me had lost the serial

Evening folks. This card was started off at an afternoon craft session at my friend Helen's house. Spent most of the time blethering, drinking coffee and eating yummy cakes (thanks Aud) and swapping tips and the card wasn't much further on by the end of the afternoon. Shattered by the time we came away, thankfully no dinner to cook tonight. A quick bite and settled down to get this card finished
